History of the Building

The Goa Office Annex Building was constructed in the early 20th century and served as an office for the government of Goa. After India gained independence from Portugal in 1961, the building was used as a government office until it was vacated in the late 1990s. The building stood empty for several years before it was renovated and converted into a hotel in 2006.

Features of the Building

The Goa Office Annex Building is a state-of-the-art office building that was designed with the environment in mind. The building features a number of sustainable design features, including:

  • A rainwater harvesting system that collects and stores rainwater for use in the building’s water systems
  • A solar photovoltaic system that generates electricity from sunlight
  • A green roof that helps to insulate the building and reduce its energy needs
  • An onsite wastewater treatment plant that recycles greywater for use in the landscape

These sustainable features help to make the Goa Office Annex Building one of the most environmentally friendly office buildings in the city.

Environmental Initiatives Taken by GOAA to Make the Annex Green

GOAA is committed to making the Annex Green and has taken many initiatives to improve the environmental sustainability of the office building. The annex was designed with an emphasis on sustainable features and materials, and GOAA has taken steps to reduce its water and energy consumption.

To reduce water consumption, GOAA has installed low-flow plumbing fixtures throughout the annex. These fixtures have been estimated to save over 1 million gallons of water per year. In addition, GOAA has installed a gray water recycling system that captures rainwater and recycles it for use in the landscape. This system has saved over 3 million gallons of water since it was installed in 2013.

To reduce energy consumption, GOAA has installed solar panels on the roof of the annex. This solar array generates enough electricity to offset the annual energy use of the office building by 10%. In addition, GOAA has installed LED lighting throughout the annex. These LEDs use 50% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs and have a lifespan of 10 times longer.

Public Feedback on the Annex Building

When the GOAA office annex building was first proposed, the public had a lot to say. Some were in favor of the new development, while others were opposed to it.

Those in favor of the annex building argued that it would provide much-needed office space for the GOAA and would be a boon to the local economy. They also pointed out that the annex would be built on an empty lot that wasn’t being used for anything else.

Those opposed to the annex building raised concerns about traffic and parking, as well as the impact on nearby businesses. They also felt that the GOAA didn’t need any more office space and that the money could be better spent elsewhere.

After hearing both sides, the GOAA decided to go ahead with the annex building. Construction is currently underway and is expected to be completed by early next year.

Conclusion

The GOAA Office Annex Building is an impressive structure that enhances the beauty of Orlando International Airport. With its fine architectural design, modern amenities, and advanced technologies, it has become a model for other airports to emulate. Its efficient operations ensure travelers have access to quick services while waiting in line or checking out for their flights. This state-of-the-art building truly provides passengers with an outstanding experience when traveling through the airport.
